Moonlight Fylgia

The moon casts his pale light into the room. Gently the wind billows the curtain.
Behind the window, a shadow clothed in the folds of the drape.
Alone in bed, a figure is restlessly turning; the bedspread has fallen.
His forehead is bathed in sweat. Dark dreams harrass him.
The shadow parts from the window, and out from the drape steps a woman.
Her steps are inaudible as she approaches. Slowly, she bends over him.
For a moment his eyes open, but he sees naught.
Her hand strokes the sleeper, and his breath becomes calmer.
As she gently puts back the cover on him, his tension is fading.
Only when morning dawns, she steps back to the window.
He stretches in sun´s first rays, alone.
Invisible for him, the shadow behind him - a female shape, always there, never grasped.
